This project comprises refurbishment of the external facades of an old existing stone building. The project aimed to improve the aesthetic look of the building and making it more in harmony with the neighboring International Neurosurgical Institute (INI) building; the new hi-tech looking extension at the eastern side of the hospital.

Two preliminary design alternatives were developed; one with stone and glass, and the other using aluminum cladding and glass.

Using our experience in value engineering, a third solution was driven from the two alternatives giving existence to a combination of glass and aluminum cladding and keeping at the same time much of the existing stone facades. This solution gave the least cost without sacrificing any of the aesthetic values of the design.
