A planning of an area of 80 donums in the southern coast of Aqaba in addition to the design of a visitor center in the form of cluster of low-rise buildings of (1000 Sqm) to serve multi functions of the park (i.e. exhibition areas, workshops spaces, auditorium, reception, information hall, cafeteria, administration offices, rangers accommodations, and storage areas).
The project includes about 9,000 Sqm of hard and soft landscaping (i.e. plazas, pathways, green areas, and open air amphitheater, and bus and car parking lots).
The most important feature of this project was its environmental awareness. The design was sensitive not to adversely impact the natural landscape of the area.
The buildings were one story high, cladding materials were selected from the local granite; the rendering of concrete followed the color range of sand. Drainage systems and waste materials were studied according to a particular Environmental Impact Study that was conducted at the beginning of the project.
