Petra Cultural Heritage Village concept lies within the holistic conservation strategy of Petra region and aims to promote and develop innovative, sustainable and community based modern tourism model and practice that add to the current traditional practices, support local economic and social development in Petra region, in addition to achieving the overall required controlled and oriented development in this significant and important area.
The project comprises the construction of the Petra heritage cultural village, at Al-Baida Area, opposite to Little Petra it aims to accommodate commercial activities and services away from their existing locations in the middle of the Petra archaeological park in an environmentally sensitive manner in order to maintain the status of Petra as a world heritage site.
