The Sharif Hussein House in Aqaba is an important historic monument that witnessed important events that ultimately led to the formation of modern Jordan. The late Sharif Hussein was the champion of the Great Arab Revolt and is closely connected to this monument, which was his residence in Aqaba during troubled and uncertain times in the aftermath of World War I and the regional transformations took place then.

Up till 2016 the monument used to house the archaeological museum of Aqaba under the Department of Antiquities. Under the direction of the Royal Hashemite Court, a directive was initiated to transform and renovate the house and dedicate it to a museum that tells the story of Sharif Hussein and shed light on the Great Arab Revolt.

The building consists of a central courtyard with 7 galleries, offices and services all around.

The scope of the work was to complete the preliminary design prepared by USAID/BEST into a full architectural and exhibit design detailed package incorporating the interpretation content, showcases and graphic design within the tender documents.
