The project is located in the outskirts of Doha – Qatar – It included the exterior remodeling, interior design and technical support during construction of an existing royal rest house that contained large reception
halls that were designed to go along the Arab traditions in mansions and rest houses that were built through the ages in the deserts and country sides. The owners wish was to use the Jordanian desert pinkish stone with the distinguished details and different textures of stone pointing; namely Tobzeh, Musamsam and Matabbeh. The design included a big fire pit in the middle of the building in addition to several ancillary rooms for escorts and services of different kinds. The major challenge of this project was the limited heights and distance between columns. The designers were obliged to stretch their imaginations beyond traditional limits to bring from the old Arabic interior details what could give the right impression and keep the space as grand as possible.
The design was realized and the result was astonishing in the sense that the external and internal look of the building was so thorough to the extent that the visitors could hardly believe that this was the existing building itself
